golongan fakir miskin(s)

Salam

 conflict of a shopaholic - reminder for myself  =____="

Staying really really far away from home and depending on government's (or to be exactly PEOPLE's) money to survive in this land is not as easy as I thought before. Especially for a SHOPAHOLIC like me. Well, at least at home we can still do something; part time jobs to get extra income, or at least we have our PaMa fund to help us.

But here, no wayyy. With Christmas Sale along the city's streets, it makes me drooling and drooling and drooling but as an observant "online-window-shopper", actually there's not much different with the price before the sale. Believe me.

So being the 'fakir miskin' - (Puan Shaariah (Pengarah KMKN),2010) over here,  we need to find other alternatives, and not being tricked by those 30% or 50% or 70% sale. Screw them!

So here's a few tips that we can take to save more and more! ;

1) Make full use of you STUDENT ID CARD. Go to shops that offer student discounts. Eventhough it's just 10%, but that 90% price from the original price brings a lot of difference!

2) Look for ONLINE DEALS. Certain shops they offer greater deals when buying online instead of walk-in. But make sure you know your sizes! (for clothes, shoes & etc) For me I'm only look for the SALE section. Although it's already off season, who cares. We're still wearing the same clothes even if it is summer or winter. The difference is only wearing a coat/sweater/jacket or not wearing it.

3) Break down you expenses. Limit yourself. Maybe around 20 or 30 or 40 or 50GBP ONLY located for each month. Less is more, if you could :P

4) Find FREE VOUCHERS! One of the websites that offers great deals for UK students is STUDENTBEANS . Register and they will update you with all the great deals to grab!

5) Try to reduce something so you can get more on something. Err..faham tak? For example, I don't use any cosmetics & facial care (except moisturiser cream because it's really dry over here :( ) which means I can save up to 10GBP per month. The same goes with my topup credit. Make full use of the provided facilities especially internet! Skype instead of calling using your phone. Except if the calls between you and your friend are free, then just use it without limit. :P

6) Walk instead of taking public transport. Unless it's really far away, and don't let yourself freezing cold walking out there.

7) Cook instead of dining out. Unless there's someone going to treat you then ok la :P

8) Be grateful of what you have. When you are really tempted to buy something that is not so important, ask yourself, "DO I NEED THIS?" - (Rebecca, Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009))

9) Travel within the budget. Or lower than the real budget. Apply student card discount for train/bus/tram/coach or anything that you take.

10) Remember to renew your books! Or else kena saman like me. Pelupa! T____T

So that's how I manage my expenses. How about you? :)

wassalam~
